ERPNext with unlimited users on a fixed-price VPS in India

A Full ERP With No Per-User Licence

Most ERP pricing is a number multiplied by your headcount, which means the software gets more expensive exactly as the business succeeds. ERPNext is open source under the GPL: accounting, stock, manufacturing, buying, selling, CRM, projects, assets and point of sale, with Frappe HR adding payroll and attendance, and no fee per user. Self-hosted, your cost is the server. Add the fiftieth employee or the third company and the bill stays the same. For Indian businesses the India Compliance app brings GST, e-invoicing, e-way bills and GSTR reconciliation into the same system.

An ERP Feels as Fast as Its Round Trip

Saving a sales invoice is not one request. The form validates, fetches item prices, checks stock, applies tax templates and posts ledger entries, and each of those is a call to the server. Host the ERP on another continent and every one of them pays 150 to 250 milliseconds, so the accounts team spends the day waiting on spinners. From our New Delhi datacenter, offices across India are typically 10 to 40 milliseconds away. Underneath, MariaDB runs on NVMe SSD and the CPU is not oversold, so stock ledger reports, MRP runs and payroll processing at month end take the time they should and no longer.

Low latency ERPNext hosting in New Delhi for Indian offices

ERPNext financial data and backups kept in India

Your Books Stay in India, and Stay Yours

An ERP holds the most sensitive data a company has: ledgers, customer lists, pricing, salaries, bank details and GST filings. Self-hosting on a VPS in New Delhi keeps all of it in India, which is what auditors, enterprise customers and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act increasingly expect. Full root access means you decide the backup schedule, install custom Frappe apps without asking anyone, connect Tally exports, payment gateways and e-commerce, and restore a copy for testing whenever you like. Nobody can change your plan limits, because there are none.

Why Indian Businesses Host ERPNext Here

An ERP is used by everyone, all day. It needs memory, a fast database disk and a CPU that is there when month end arrives.

Unlimited Users

No per-seat licence, ever. Size the server to your concurrent users and grow in place from 8GB to 512GB of RAM as the company does.

MariaDB on NVMe

ERPNext is database-heavy. NVMe SSD and enough RAM for the InnoDB buffer pool keep list views, reports and stock ledgers quick after years of transactions.

CPU That Is Not Oversold

Payroll, MRP and year-end reports are long, heavy jobs. AMD EPYC 7C13 vCores without overallocation mean they finish on schedule instead of when the neighbours go quiet.

GST Ready

Install the open-source India Compliance app for GST invoices, e-invoicing, e-way bills and GSTR reconciliation. Full root means any Frappe app installs without restriction.

10–40ms Across India

Hosted in New Delhi, close to your offices, warehouses and the GST and banking systems you integrate with. Every form save is faster.

534 Tbps Magic Transit

If the ERP is down, billing and dispatch stop. Cloudflare Magic Transit sits upstream of every server at no extra cost so an attack does not halt your operations.

How to Install ERPNext on a VPS in India

A production ERPNext site with HTTPS in about an hour.

1. Size the server to your users

Community guidance is 2 vCPU and 4GB for 10 to 25 users and 4 vCPU with 8GB to 16GB for 50 to 100. IN-PRO (4 vCores, 8GB, ₹1,800/month) suits a small team. We recommend IN-LITE (6 vCores, 16GB, ₹3,600/month) for most companies and IN-PLUS (32GB) for manufacturing, multiple companies or 100+ users.

2. Deploy Ubuntu and point a subdomain

Choose Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or 24.04 LTS. Create an A record such as erp.yourdomain.com pointing at the VPS IP address. SSH in as root, update the system and create a frappe user with sudo.

3. Choose Docker or bench

For containers, use the official frappe_docker repository and its production compose setup. For a classic install, add Python, MariaDB, Redis, Node.js and wkhtmltopdf, then pip install frappe-bench and bench init frappe-bench.

4. Create the site and install apps

Run bench new-site erp.yourdomain.com, then bench get-app erpnext and bench --site erp.yourdomain.com install-app erpnext. Add GST features with bench get-app https://github.com/resilient-tech/india-compliance.

5. Switch to production with HTTPS

Run sudo bench setup production frappe to configure Nginx and Supervisor, then sudo bench setup lets-encrypt erp.yourdomain.com for the certificate. Allow only ports 80, 443 and SSH through the firewall.

6. Schedule backups off the server

Add a nightly bench --site all backup --with-files and copy the result to S3-compatible storage or another machine. Give MariaDB a generous InnoDB buffer pool. An ERP without a tested restore is a risk, not a system.

ERPNext VPS Hosting India — Frequently Asked Questions

ERPNext runs a full stack on one machine: Python application workers, MariaDB, Redis for cache and queues, Node.js for real-time updates, background workers and Nginx. Community guidance is 2 vCPU and 4GB RAM for 10 to 25 users, and 4 vCPU with 8GB to 16GB for 50 to 100 users. RAM is the cheapest performance upgrade in the stack, because MariaDB is fastest when the working data fits in memory. Plans on this page start at 8GB for that reason.

IN-LITE (6 vCores, 16GB RAM, 160GB NVMe, ₹3,600/month) is the plan we recommend for most companies, comfortable for roughly 25 to 75 users with room for reports and background jobs. IN-PRO (4 vCores, 8GB, ₹1,800/month) suits teams of up to about 25. Choose IN-PLUS (12 vCores, 32GB, ₹7,040/month) for manufacturing with MRP, several companies on one site, or 100+ users, and IN-PREMIUM or IN-ELITE if you are an implementation partner hosting many client sites.

Frappe Cloud is the managed service from the makers of ERPNext, and it is a good choice if you want no server work at all. Self-hosting suits you when you want a fixed cost that does not depend on plan tiers, full root access for custom apps and integrations, your own backup and upgrade schedule, or many sites on one server. The trade-off is honest: updates, backups and monitoring become your job or your implementation partner's. Many Indian partners run exactly this setup for their clients.

Yes, through India Compliance, a free open-source Frappe app. It adds GST-compliant invoices, e-invoice and e-way bill generation, GSTR-1 preparation, GSTR-2B purchase reconciliation and related reports inside ERPNext. Because you have full root access, you install it with a single bench command; portal API access for e-invoicing is arranged separately through a GST Suvidha Provider.

Both are supported. Docker, using the official frappe_docker repository, gives you reproducible deployments and clean upgrades, and suits teams already comfortable with containers. Bench is the classic method, installs directly on Ubuntu, and is what most documentation and community answers assume, which makes it easier to customise and debug. Either way you need root access and a clean Ubuntu LTS server, which every plan here provides.

Because ERP work is hundreds of small interactions, not a few large downloads. Opening a form, picking an item, saving and submitting a document each involve several requests. At 200 milliseconds per round trip from an overseas region the delay is felt on every click; at 10 to 40 milliseconds from New Delhi the system feels local. Over a working day across a whole accounts team, that difference is hours.

Your data lives only on your VPS in the ISO 27001 certified Advika Datacenter in New Delhi. The server is unmanaged, so nobody at Inservers logs in to it or to your ERPNext site. Security on the server is in your hands, so use SSH keys, keep only ports 80, 443 and SSH open, enable two-factor authentication in ERPNext, and schedule nightly backups to storage off the server. Network-level DDoS protection through Cloudflare Magic Transit is included.

Yes. ERPNext supports multiple companies inside one site, and bench supports multi-tenancy: many separate sites, each with its own database and domain, on a single server. Implementation partners use this to host a portfolio of clients economically. Plan for roughly 2GB to 4GB of RAM per active client site and choose IN-PLUS or above; the CPU is not oversold, so one client's month-end run does not starve the others.

Yes. ERPNext is open source under the GNU GPL v3, with every module included and no limit on users, companies or transactions. You pay for the server, and optionally for an implementation partner to configure it for your business. That is the entire cost structure.

Both paths are common. ERPNext has a data import tool for masters and opening balances, and many businesses migrate at the start of a financial year. Others keep Tally for statutory accounting and run ERPNext for inventory, manufacturing and CRM. If you want Tally itself available to your team from anywhere, see Tally on Cloud India.
