1. Pick a plan with build headroom

2. Deploy a clean Ubuntu LTS

Choose Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or 22.04 LTS. Coolify wants a fresh server with nothing else bound to ports 80 and 443. The VPS is ready within 15 minutes; SSH in as root.

3. Run the installer

Run curl -fsSL https://cdn.coollabs.io/coolify/install.sh | bash. It installs Docker, pulls the Coolify containers and starts the dashboard on port 8000.

4. Create the admin account straight away

Open http://your-server-ip:8000 and register immediately. The first account created becomes the administrator, so do not leave a fresh install sitting unclaimed on a public address.

5. Point a domain and turn on HTTPS

Create an A record for the dashboard and a wildcard record such as *.apps.yourdomain.com for deployments. Set the instance domain in settings and Coolify issues Let's Encrypt certificates automatically. Then close port 8000 in the firewall.

6. Connect Git and deploy

Add your GitHub or GitLab account, pick a repository and branch, and deploy. Turn on automatic deploys for pushes, add databases from the catalogue, and schedule backups to S3-compatible storage off the server.
